Improved Immune System (Lymphatic Drainage)
The lymphatic system is the metabolic rubbish bin of the body. It rids you of toxins such as dead and cancerous cells, nitrogenous wastes, fat, infections viruses, heavy metals, and other assorted junk cast off by the cells. Unlike the cardio-vascular system, there is no “pump” driving the fluid round the body.
When on the Rebounder, the “push” motion forces the lymphatic valves to open, the “jump” motion closes these valves at the top of the jump. This creates a “pump” effect which effectively moves and recycles the lymph and the entire blood supply through the circulatory system many times during the course of the rebounding session, providing a free-flowing system that drains away the potential poisons from our body.
With lymphatic drainage, waste products can be eliminated quicker and more efficiently both during and after exercise (lactic acid dissipation).
Instructors often call Rebounding – the Hangover Workout! – as rebounding eliminates toxins more effectively than any other form of exercise.
Rebounding affects the lymphatic system much like a sports massage does and can help eliminate toxins from the body.
Doreen Puglisi, MS is a former college professor and renowned international presenter and author for the MedFitNetwork with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. Founder of the Pink Ribbon Program, Doreen began working with breast cancer survivors as an exercise physiologist and Pilates instructor. According to Doreen, Rebounding aids lymphatic circulation by stimulating the millions of one-way valves in the lymphatic system and it takes only two minutes of rebounding to flush the entire lymphatic system, while cleansing and strengthening cells and lymph nodes.
