We often get asked by people which Rebounder will be best for their use. There are many rebounders, mini trampolines and trampettes on the market from a variety of manufacturers and suppliers.
There is also a lot of research and publications that speak about the health and fitness benefits of rebounding.
It is important to note that in order to get these benefits, and to get the best bounce experience and longevity of equipment, then whichever manufacturer you choose be sure that you are purchasing a high quality product, where all the components are built from high quality materials so that you can bounce safely and effectively.
Also buy from a company who can support you locally with expertise, warranty services and post-warranty spare parts.
There are many cheap rebounder on the market that are really little more than a “toy” and you often find that the individual components cannot be replaced so if the mat wears out then the unit has to be disposed of. The key indicators to watch out for are:
- Height of rebounder: needs to be >9in off the ground to get the right bounce
- Weight of rebounder: needs to be >10kgs otherwise the rebounder is unstable to bounce on for rebounding workouts
- Location of supplier: ensure local customer service & warehouse to get best support
- Expertise of company: are they a generalist catalogue company, or knowledgeable in rebounding?
- Track Records of company and products: do they have outstanding customer reviews for their product range and customer service. Do they support customers well even when things don’t go to plan?
- Test Certificates: do they have UK/EU/USA test certificates?
Bungee or Spring Rebounder?
Both bungee sprung and metal sprung rebounders have a genuine place in rebounding — which is right for you comes down to a variety of factors including budget, height/weight, workout type, budget and personal preference.
We have a specific blog on the differences between a bungee and spring rebounder so for full information click on the link, but in simple terms:
- a Bungee rebounder is quieter and has a slower, controlled bounce. It is great for family bouncing, for Children and Young People with SEND needs and for complete beginners or those who are advanced users and want to work harder!
- a Spring rebounder is great for fitness bouncing to faster tempo music and there will be some noise from the metal springs however this is easily minimised by applying coconut oil / vaseline to the springs from time to time.

What Size Rebounder Do You Need?
One of the questions we’re asked most often: what size rebounder should I buy? Most people are well suited to our standard 40″ frame models – this size works for the vast majority of adults and gives a genuinely effective, low-impact bounce without needing much floor space.
You may want to size up to the 47″ Fit Bounce Pro XL if:
- You’re over 6ft tall and want a larger mat surface to move more freely
- You’re using the rebounder for Flexi Bounce Therapy, where a therapist or carer may need to stand on the mat alongside the user to provide physical support
- You simply prefer extra room to move, twist, and vary your workouts
Our Just Bounce sits in between at 44″ – a good option if you want a bit more room than the standard range without stepping up to the XL.
As a general rule: the taller you are, or the more support you need, the more mat surface is worth having – but bigger isn’t automatically better if you’re short on space.
Folding vs. Non-Folding: Which Should You Choose?
Most of our customers don’t fold their rebounder away after every session. People often leave their rebounder flat on the floor or standing upright in a corner -perfectly primed and ready for whenever they fancy a bounce!
The beauty of the folding frame is all about giving you ultimate flexibility. While it’s effortless to leave out for your daily workouts, the folding mechanism is an incredible bonus feature designed for life’s transitions. It’s there to give you maximum space exactly when you need it most.
If you’ve got a permanent spot for your rebounder and don’t expect to move it often, non-folding is the simplest choice. If you’ll need to resize occasionally, half-folding and quarter-folding models gives you that option.
